It is official, Reagan is a walker and nothing can stop her. She still walks a bit like a drunken sailor but she is over crawling. It has been a little over a month since she took her first steps and it is amazing how well she walks since those first steps. The only problem now is that she wants to walk everywhere so our trips to Sea World and the Zoo are shorten to about an hour per trip. As I stated she walks like a drunken sailor so she falls every so often and I am not ready for the skinned knees, elbows or face yet. I try to keep her walking on other surfaces than cement. Enjoy some of the pictures from her 1st birthday...... Click Here

No more traveling............
I think Reagan might have a record amongst all 1 year olds. She traveled via plane 8 times this year; 7 times across country. And it has worn out her mommy. An 11 month old in a plane isn't relaxing to mommy or anyone around mommy. Reagan has a lot of ants in her pants these days and if she can't get down she will let you know how upset she is and it is loud. I was that person on the plane with a screaming baby. So traveling proves tough; on the last leg of the flight (my original flight back was canceled so I had to go from Michigan, Chicago, Dallas to San Diego) I figured out the solution............have the seat next to you EMPTY. All she wanted was her own space.
CONGRATS to Tricia and Jason on their marriage and welcome to the family Jason!
Thanks to everyone who helped celebrate Reagan's 1st birthday early!!

Coast Guard Festival
Oh what fun we had when we went back to Michigan for Coast Guard Festival. Despite the cool, rain on Saturday and Reagan getting sick we had a wonderful time. Reagan definitely enjoys hanging with Grandma, Grandpa, Aunts, Uncles and of course her cousins. The introduction of Ladderball turned out to be quite the competition. Poor Shaun couldn't beat Papa Hood no matter how many beers were consume. Thanks for coming Sandra and Shaun!! Hope you come back!!

Reagan's Summer of Fun
Where has the time gone. I can't believe it is the almost the middle of July. We have been keeping ourselves busy. We went to the county fair, to Michigan, to the zoo and Sea World multiple times and we head back to Michigan in 2 weeks. Reagan is definitely a Hood, she loves the beach and has zero fear of the water. She thinks it is funny when the waves crash upon her feet. She isn't walking yet but is now standing without holding onto anything. I don't think she has gone from her butt to standing (unless daycare is hiding that from me) but if you put her down she will try standing by herself. She doesn't really know what to do from there except sit down but if she takes off walking tomorrow I wouldn't be surprised. She is always busy doing something. Enjoy all the pictures (there are a lot since it has been a month and a half)..........

Mover and a Shaker
Reagan is all over the place now. She is crawling at warp speed, climbing stairs, pulling herself up, moving around furniture, and using mommy's evergrowing tummy as a stepping stool. Unfortunately, with all her activity she doesn't seem to get tired and taking naps are not on her agenda. Even though we don't get much down time, she is way fun. Reagan went to her first Padres game; she lasted all 9 innings and for the fireworks display afterwards. We got compliments on how good she was; she didn't fuss once. Even though her Mom dressed her in Padres garb, she is really a Reds fan. Go Reds!

She's on the move
Well she hasn't mastered the crawling skill yet but she is awfully close. That doesn't stop her from getting from point A to point B, though. She is speedy and Breyer is the temptation she needs to get moving. Breyer isn't very fond of being Reagan's favorite play toy. Breyer has been trying to hide in the kitchen but Reagan has figured out her hiding spot. She has also been pulling herself up lately. Mostly using my legs when I am on the floor with her but she has used her toy, too (there's a picture in the link that shows her standing). She becomes more and more fun every day and she still is the happiest baby around. As you will be able to see in pictures she isn't crying or upset she is doing the craziest smiles that make her look sad. She loves to pose and gets super excited when the camera comes out. Easter in Huntsville
We went to Huntsville for Easter weekend for a wedding. Reagan had a great time and we found a great babysitter in a full length mirror. I was amazed on all the stuff I could get done while she was talking to herself and kissing the mirror. She was a big hit at the wedding and she was so good throughout the ceremony and the reception. She will be taking off and crawling any day now. She is started to get frustrated with herself because she cannot figure out the hand and knee coordination.
