Hawaii

We finally made it to Hawaii.  We went to the Big Island and stayed at the Waikoloa area.  It was a very interesting island - black lava was everywhere.  We didn't get to the  east side of the island where it is more tropical.  We just stayed on the west side.  Long story but we stayed at time share condos (we do not own a time share) that the Hilton owns which means we were able to use the condos pool and the huge Hilton resort pools.  Both places had great kiddy pools and the resort had a sand area (plus dolphins and turtles).  We did ZERO sightseeing - I would have loved to see a volcano but having 2 kids with an abundant amount of energy we thought it would be a happier vacation if we just did what they wanted - SWIM.  I will go back to Hawaii and do the sightseeing one day.  It was a very relaxing trip and I actually read a book.  Wow that never happens.  I didn't take too many pictures b/c we did the same thing everyday and I didn't want to risk my camera getting wet so I don't have any pool shots.  I did buy a waterproof camera and haven't gotten those developed yet.

Keeping up with the girls

The girls seem to have limitless energy or I am just losing energy. We had a busy couple of months.  I had to squeeze one more Legoland visit in before our membership expired, we went to Disneyland & then off we went to Hawaii.  Plus in between all of that I held my first garage sale.  I was surprised how much money I made - too bad it is already all gone.  It just burned a hole in my pocket.

I dragged Phil to a timeshare presentation over Thanksgiving weekend because I was offered tickets to Disneyland if I went.  It was a fiasco trying to get the tickets - it only took 6 months.  I think their ploy was to have people give up but not me.  I was a pain in their butt until they gave them to me.  We ended up going on Mother's Day and I thought it was perfect.  Very little wait time for the rides.  The longest we waited was 20 minutes and that was to see Pooh.  Unfortunately after the first 10 minutes of waiting Pooh needed a rest and they changed out characters and Tigger wasn't good enough for Reagan.  She only wanted to meet Pooh.  Harper enjoyed hugs from both Eeyore and Tigger while Reagan just help take pictures.  Obviously the Princesses were the big hit and we really luck out in waiting in line for them.  When we got in line and the Princess show started so everyone got out of line to go see that and we figured the girls would rather meet princesses than see them in a show so we stayed.  It was a painless day at Disneyland - YEAH!!

Spring in San Diego.............

The weather has been fantastic so far this spring.  We have had many pool days already.  I set up a kiddie pool in our back yard and put the slide next to it.  Unfortunately Harper needs to be watched like a hawk when the pool comes out.  She thinks it is a good idea to stand at the top of the slide (it is maybe 2-3 ft high) and jump in the pool from the top.  She is fearless.  She is also beyond ready to be potty trained.  I have put it off since I am pregnant but it has to be done.  Harper has become our resident streaker.  Anytime she goes to the bathroom she takes off her clothes and diaper (she either hands me the diaper or leaves it in a secret hiding place) and runs around then twirls and then throws her arms up and says "ta-da".
